You are insured under the Harel “Tour and Care” health insurance.

You’ll have access to excellent, contracted, English-speaking doctors, and a 24-hour English speaking customer service. Claims are paid directly by the insurance company—meaning, no need to claim back home.

Coverage is available for certain pre-existing conditions that have been stable for at least months–contact us below for details.

Policy Exclusions

  • Pre-existing or chronic conditions (e.g. asthma, Krohn’s disease, diabetes)
  • Routine check-ups
  • Pregnancy or maternity coverage
  • Injuries caused due to alcohol or drugs
  • Self inflicted injuries
  • Skiing and extreme sports injuries
  • Emotional/psychological conditions
  • STD

PEACE OF MIND: Our staff will work together with the Harel services. We will provide an English speaking back-up for any problems in making appointments or for serious medical conditions. This is through Egert and Cohen, experts in student and tourist health services in Israel. Click here for the E&C website.

In addition, we will arrange twice weekly clinics and telemedicine services where necessary. Our medical director, Dr. Lazar Fruchter, will coordinate with medical services, student and family in case of need.

Pre-existing conditions (not included in the basic policy) Details of Coverage.

Sudden Deterioration of pre-existing illnesses/medical conditions where:
In the 6 months preceding the arrival to Israel:

  1. The medical condition has been stable.
  2. No hospitalization.
  3. No change in the dosage of medication being taken.


Coverage: Up to $10,000
Psychiatric emergency: up to $3,000

Exclusions:

  1. Any condition for which the treatment was expected / for which a doctor in the applicant’s home country recommended the applicant not travel to Israel / for which the applicant was on a waiting list for an operation or treatment.
  2. AIDS, transplants, M.S., dialysis, C.F., sexual diseases, heart disease, malignant diseases (such as cancer).
  3. No cover for refills of medications related to the pre-existing condition.
  4. Applicants over 49 years of age.
