Every now and then, an insurance product comes onto the market that is simply a "no-brainer" - you have to buy it!!
("Of course", you say… "typical insurance propaganda!")
Read on!
You may or may not be aware that not all drugs/medicines are included in the "Sal Briut" (basket of services that we all get from our Kupat Cholim). What are not included are the really expensive drugs: drugs for rare medical conditions, some cancer drugs, drugs for Parkinson's disease, drugs which have a generic counterpart in Israel but which may be more effective in the original. In other words, the potentially life-saving drugs that cost a fortune and are not covered by the Kupa.
("True, this cover is important - but it's probably too expensive for our tight budget at present")
Eighteen Shekels per family per month!!
That's it! Here are the details:
Insurance Company: Clal
Coverage: NIS 5,000,000 per person
Price: Oldest family member less than 54 years: NIS 18 per month for the family.
Oldest family member more than 54 years old: NIS 50 per month for the family.
Deductible: For any drug that costs more than NIS 500 per month - no deductible. For any drug that costs less than NIS 500 per month - NIS 200 deductible per month.
This price is fixed for the next five years. What's the catch - you must sign up before the end of August.
